JONATHEN "JON G" GONZALEZ

Jonathen Gonzalez (Jon G) is the songwriter and frontman of an up-and-coming alternative act named The Young Man and is a veteran of the Air Force. Born and raised in Kentucky, he enlisted in the Air Force in 2008 and served 5 years with Security Forces. Jon deployed to Iraq in 2010 and served as RTO on a joint task force with the Army 1st Infantry Division, conducting 150 combat missions. Despite the demands of life in the military, his interest in music continued to grow, and he was always sure to keep a guitar and notebook close at hand. Following his honorable discharge, Jon decided to pursue his passion and enrolled in music school in the summer of 2014, graduating with a Degree in Music Composition from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2018. He has been writing, recording and releasing music consistently since then. 

Jon released his first EP as a solo singer-songwriter in 2018, and followed that up with collaborations as a featured artist on several pop projects until late 2020, when he founded The Young Man alongside fellow members Brennan Stuart (Drums/ Production) and Wesley Stuart (Guitars). Together the trio has a distinct style that pays homage to the guitar driven bands of yesteryear without sacrificing a radio friendly, modern sound. Having already accrued millions of streams and a strong social media following, Jon G. and The Young Man look to continue carving their sound and place in an ever evolving alternative music landscape.

Jon G. is currently based out Northern Virginia. When he isn’t recording or traveling with the band, he performs live 4-5 times a week as a solo acoustic cover artist all around the NOVA/ DC region.
